Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement

Keit Foundation Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement
At the Keit Foundation, we recognize the transformative power of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in driving positive change. Our mission to empower youth and foster community development is grounded in a commitment to creating an environment where every individual—regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or economic background—can thrive, participate, and contribute fully.
Our Commitment to DEIDiversity
Diversity fuels our innovation and enhances the impact of our programs. The Keit Foundation is dedicated to reflecting the diversity of the communities we serve, embracing a wide range of perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds that enrich our initiatives and outreach efforts. We are committed to:
  • Actively recruiting and supporting a diverse workforce, board, and volunteer base that mirrors the populations we serve.
  • Recognizing and valuing the unique insights brought by individuals from varied backgrounds, believing that these insights contribute to more effective, culturally relevant programming.
Equity
Equity is at the heart of our mission. We are dedicated to creating fair opportunities and accessible resources for all young individuals, striving to dismantle barriers that have historically prevented equal access to opportunities. In line with this commitment, we pledge to:
  • Identify and address systemic inequalities through targeted initiatives designed to provide resources and support where they are most needed.
  • Conduct regular assessments of our programs and outreach to ensure they meet the needs of underserved populations, adapting our strategies to respond to these findings.
Inclusion
Inclusion forms the foundation of our community engagement. We foster an inclusive culture that welcomes, respects, and values each individual’s contributions, understanding that a sense of belonging is essential for meaningful engagement. To achieve this, we commit to:
  • Actively cultivating an environment that encourages participation and leadership from all members of our community, including underrepresented groups.
  • Providing opportunities for input and collaboration across all areas of our organization, ensuring that decision-making processes incorporate a broad range of voices and perspectives.

Accountability and Continuous ImprovementThe Keit Foundation pledges to uphold these DEI principles in every aspect of our work. We are committed to transparency, ongoing learning, and improvement in our DEI practices, seeking not only to advocate for change but to embody it within our organization and the communities we serve. Our commitment to accountability includes:
  • Setting Measurable DEI Goals: We set specific, measurable DEI goals to guide our progress and report regularly on our advancements and challenges. This includes assessing our workforce diversity, program accessibility, and community impact.
  • Engaging in Regular DEI Training: All staff, board members, and volunteers are required to participate in ongoing DEI training to deepen their understanding of equity issues and improve their skills in fostering inclusive environments.
  • Establishing Feedback Mechanisms: We actively seek input from our staff, community partners, and program participants to inform and improve our DEI strategies, using this feedback to shape our policies and practices.

Building a More Inclusive FutureTogether, we are working toward a more inclusive, equitable, and diverse future for the youth of Georgia and beyond. By integrating DEI principles into our operations, decision-making, and program design, we aim to create lasting impact, ensuring that every young person has the opportunity to reach their full potential within a supportive, inclusive community.
