Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DO I APPLY FOR THE UPLIFT GRANT?
  • You can apply in only two steps. First, donate to the Uplift Grand Fund by clicking here and filling out the Paypal donation form. You'll be prompted to pay the non-refundable $35 donation upon submission. Second, you will need to complete the application for the grant by clicking here.
WHEN WILL I FIND OUT IF I’M THE WINNER OF THE UPLIFT GRANT?
  • Grants are awarded annually. We strive to meet the following schedule:
    • The grant application opens on January 1st. 
    • The grant application closes on August 1st.
    • The grant is awarded in October.
HOW DO YOU SELECT GRANT WINNERS? WHAT CRITERIA DO YOU USE TO SELECT GRANT RECIPIENTS?
  • We review and evaluate grant applications on a rolling basis. After selecting the finalists, we vote for the winner. Criteria used to assess applications include:
    • Your mission: clearly stating how your project, business, or organization makes Georgia communities better.
    • Current goals: clearly state your goals or priorities for the next three to six months. Are the goals specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound?
    • Plans for the grant money: clearly state how your project, business, or organization intends to use the funds.
    • Diversification: We strive to award grants to a diverse group of projects, businesses, and organizations. This includes awarding to a range of entities diverse in organization size, annual budget, current community issues, and more.
WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY FOR THE AMPLIFIER GRANT?
  • Projects or organizations should be actively working on efforts to improve Georgia communities.
  • Georgia legal entities ranging from new nonprofits, local startups, to small businesses are encouraged to apply.
  • Has paid the $35 application donation, which goes directly to the Uplift Grant Fund.
MAY I REAPPLY?
  • Yes, you can reapply, but we encourage doing this when something significant has changed or circumstances have positively improved your efforts since your last application.
WHY DO YOU CHARGE AN APPLICATION FEE?
  • The application fee goes directly to the Uplift Grant Fund and the expenses that come with its maintenance. The application fee is non-refundable and allows us to offer up to three grants annually.
