Addressing Nutrition Deserts in Georgia's Heart
|
The Keit Foundation aims to be a light of hope amidst severe obstacles, as almost 500,000 children in Georgia struggle with the fact that they live in food deserts. The obstacles to obtaining fresh, healthful foods are glaringly obvious in these nutrition deserts, and they are especially noticeable in Cobb County and the surrounding areas. Our goal is to bring about practical change, not just awareness. Our focus on impoverished youth is part of our commitment to removing these obstacles and giving every child the tools they need for a healthy future. |
It is necessary for you to comprehend Georgia's geography in order to comprehend the needs of the communities we serve. The State Office of Rural Health (SORH) of the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) manages programs to optimize health status and improve health outcomes in rural and underserved areas of Georgia.
